Pt. Rupak Kulkarni & Pt. Mithilesh Jha mesmerize the audience at KMV

Jalandhar 3 August (Jaswinder Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya-the Heritage Institution, Jalandhar the main auditorium was transported to a musical paradise with the live performance of world renownest flutist Pandit Rupak Kulkarni and world renowned table player Pandit Mithilesh Jha.  The joint presentation of the two gave the young audience who are more familiar with rock, pop and bollywood music a peep into the rich cultural heritage of India.  The programme which was sponsored jointly by the music Dept. of KMV and Spic Macy both of which are committed towards spreading Indian culture and art forms began with lighting of the traditional lamp of knowledge.  The college Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi welcomed both the renowned artist with flowers.  It is worth mentioning that Pt. Rupak Kulkarni got music as inheritance and was groomed by flutist of the caliber of Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia, Pt. Rupak is often seen on television’s famous channels.  He often tours, Japan, London etc. to spread the peace beauty, warmth & pleasure of Indian Music. Pt. Mithlesh was also fortunate to inherit music from his father Pt. Gopilal who was also his Guru and then he was under the tutelage of famous table player Bulbul Maharaj.  He has also given presentations in various continents across the globe.  A heady combination of flute and table by both these maestros left the audience wishing for more.  The various sagas of Indian Classical music manifested themselves in the most beautiful of their forms in the main auditorium of the college. It is note worthy that KMV has been committed to music & art forms right from its inception.  At KMV Pt. Vishnu Narayan, Bhat Khande, Pt. Vishnu Diagmbhar, Pulaskar, Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma, Pt. Rajan Mishra, Pt. Sajan Mishra, Pt. Renu Majumdar, Pt. Ravi Shankar etc. great musicians have given their presentation at KMV.  At the conclusion of their performance both the distinguished musicians were presented with mementoes by the college Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi.
