2-day of International Conference concluded at HMV

Jalandhar April 20 (Jaswinder Azad)- Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen and the department of English began its 2nd day of International Conference on Rewriting Methodology: Media and Teaching of English in Modern Culture and Society enthusiastically. The function started with DAV Gaan.
Dr.Ramnita Saini Sharda, Convener of the International Conference introduced the chairpersons of the 2nd day session Dr. Srinivas Bandameedi, Asstt. Professor, Symbiosis Law School Hyderabad, Mr. Hendriwanto, University Swadaya Gunung Djati, Cirebon, Indonesia, Dr. Saiwaroon Chumpawan, Chairperson, Doctoral Programme in English, Srinakharinwirot University, Bangkok, Thailand, Dr. Darshana Samaraweera, Director National Insitute of Education, Sri Lanka, Ms. Motikala Dewan, President NELTA. Paper Presenters from whom and abroad presented their papers on the themes of the conference. At the end of the session, all the delegates gave their suggestions on the problems arising due to ELT and the possible solutions in detail. Around 148 delegates and paper presenters attended this International Conference.
The valedictory session was presided by Dr. Yubee Gill, Head of Dept. of English, GNDU Amritsar. The convener of the conference Dr. Ramnita Saini Sharda expressed her gratitude towards the guests and said that they have re-learnt and reinvented themselves through the medium of this conference. She also told about the MOU signed between Mr. Hendriwanto (Indonesia) and HMV. In his valedictory addressed Dr. Z.N. Patil thanked all the organizers and said that such platforms bring together scholars from diverse cultures and thus provide an opportunity for great learning. Chief guest Dr. Yubee Gill also praised the organization and Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen in particular for the conduct of such intellectual events. Dr. Darshana Samaraweera (Sri Lanka) and Ms. Motikala Dewan (Nepal) felt honoured to be a part of the conference and praised the institution especially for its hospitality in their impressions of the conference. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen expressed her thanks saying that this conference provided ample scope for learning about the culture of other countries along with an enhancement of knowledge.
Dr. Yubee Gill was honoured by presenting a phulkari, painting and a memento. All the paper presenters and delegates were awarded with certificates by Dr. Yubee Gill, Dr. Roshan Lal, Dean Academics Dr. Kanwaldeep, Dr. Ramnita Saini Sharda, Mrs. Mamta, Mrs. Kranti Wadhwa and Mrs. Ritu Bajaj. The conference concluded with a call from two other International Conferences to be held in Noida and Nepal.
It is worth mentioning that a cultural evening was organized for the dignitaries/delegates under the guidance of Youth Welfare Dean Mrs. Navroop Kaur and Dr. Nidhi Bal. The students presented various items – Qawali, Western Dance, Sitar, Classical Dance, Mimicry and Bhangra and made the evening lively and enthralling. Mrs. Lovleen Kaur, Mr. Neeraj Aggarwal, Ms. Maneet Bedi, Ms. Rita, Ms. Ravinder, Mrs. Amita and Ms. Nandini were also present on the occasion. The stage was conducted by Dr. Anjana Bhatia.
