2-day Theater fest ‘Navrang’ concludes by ‘Mitti Da Bawa’at CT Group

Artists portray serious issue of Indo-Pak relations on the concluding day of ‘Navrang’ at CT
Jalandhar October 4 (Jaswinder Azad)- A 2-day theater festival named ‘Navrang’ got concluded by its second play named ‘Mitti Da Bawa’ in Sardarni Manjit Kaur Auditorium at CT Group of Institutions, Shahpur campus. On its second day, the artists from Saanjh Kala Manch, Kapurthala performed a play “Mitti Da Bawa” which was based on the situation in the confined forest area where the dialogue between Indo-Pak soldiers was narrated. The fest was organised by Department of Cultural Affairs. The play was written by Bhupinder Singh and directed by Karan Dev Jagota and includes various artists namely Sahil, Yaseendar, Bhavna, Kajal, Martin, Rohit, Sachin and Naman. The set design and was prepared by Satbir Singh Dhanju.
Briefing about the play, Director Karan Dev said, “Well, the play is based on the situation where Indo-Pak soldiers get confined in a forest area with no arms to use and have intense long dialogue on the reason of bad relations between both countries. The play depicts that the key reason of differences between both countries is political pressures.”
Manbir Singh, Managing Director, CT Group appreciated the efforts of the theater team for performing holding this two day theater fest in the premises for the students and said that theater is one of the best traditional mediums of disseminating any message to the larger audience.
Present on the occasion were Harpreet Singh, Vice Chairman, Dr. G S Kalra, Campus Director, Davinder Singh, Cultural Officer along with the staff and students of the campus.
