2-day Theater fest ‘Navrang’ kicks off at CT Group

Artists portray serious issue of drugs on the first day of ‘Navrang’ at CT
Jalandhar October 3 (Jaswinder Azad)- A 2-day theater festival named ‘Navrang’ has kicked off at CT Group of Institutions, Shahpur campus. On the first day, the artists from Saanjh Kala Manch, Kapurthala performed a play “Sulagdi Daastan” on the very serious issue of drugs amongst youth. The fest is organised by Department of Cultural Affairs.
The play is written and directed by Karan Dev Jagota and includes various artists namely Shammi Alfaz, Gagan Mand, Sharanjit singh, Mandeep Singh, Arvinder singh, Manjit and Silky Dhode. The set design and background music is prepared by Sentii Simran.
Briefing about the play, Director Karan Dev said, “Well, the play is based on the present serious situation of drugs in state especially amongst youth. We have prepared the play after thorough research and have tried to portray every character consciously. We have got huge appreciation for the same at National level for this play.”
Manbir Singh, Managing Director, CT Group appreciated the efforts of the theater team for performing a play in the premises for the students and said that theater is one of the best traditional mediums of disseminating any message to the larger audience.
Present on the occasion were Harpreet Singh, Vice Chairman, Dr. G S Kalra, Davinder Singh, Cultural Officer along with the staff and students of the campus.
