7th R. C. Chopra Memorial National Moot Court Competition, hosted by St. Soldier Law College, closed

Jalandhar March 2 (Jaswinder Azad)- 7th R. C. Chopra Memorial National Moot Court Competition, hosted by St. Soldier Law College, today closed with declaring team of Govt. Law College, Mumbai bagging the Winner Trophy and Aligarh Muslim University getting the 1st Runner Trophy with cash prizes of Rs.11,000/- and 51,00/- respectively Mohd. Kumail Haider from Aligarh Muslim University was adjudged as the Best Student Advocate and Ankita from GNDU was adjudged as the 2nd Best Student Advocate, Anamika from KIIT School of Law, UP as the Best Researcher. The decision was arrived at after 90 minute hearing and cross-questioning by a Division Bench Chaired by Hon’ble Mr. Justice A.B. Chaudhari a Sr Judge of Pb&Hry High Court and Justice Vinod Sharma. Earlier the semi-finals of the competition were conducted by Sh. B. K. Mehta, former Distt& Session Judge and Sh. D.B. Sharma, Senior Advocate of High Court. The valedictory cum Prize Distribution followed the court proceedings. The Chairman of the St. Soldier Group Sh. Anil Chopra and Vice-Chairperson Mrs. Sangeeta Chopra welcomed the guests. The College Director Dr. S.C. Sharma gave a brief account of the Competition, St. Soldier Group and the Law College. The Managing Director Prof. Manhar Arora presented the vote of thanks.
While delivering his Presidential Address, Justice Chaudhari congratulated the winners, appreciated the organizers and exhorted the students to work hard with sincerity and dedication. Law Profession, be said, has today a vast scope of progress and social contribution. Justice Vinod Sharma underscored the importance of a lawyer in achieving justice. The role of a counsel is more important in achieving a good judgment.
