93rd Foundation Day celebrated with exuberance at HMV

Jalandhar April 8 (Jaswinder Azad)- Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya completed its glorious 93 years on 7th April, 2019. To mark the occasion a special assembly was held on 8th April, 2019 under the benevolence and support of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. Justice (Retd.) Sh. N.K. Sud, Vice President, DAVCMC and Chairman Local Committee graced the occasion as chief guest along with the presence of Sh. S.N. Mayor, Sh. Kundan Lal Aggarwal, Sh. Ashok Paruthi, Sh. Surendra Seth and Dr. Pawan Gupta. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen accorded a warm welcome to the guests. The event began with the pious lighting of lamp and recital of DAV Anthem. An inspirational video prepared by the department of Mass Communication depicting the luminous achievements of the institution was showcased. The institution has come a long way from a strength of 80 to 5000 and proved true to the mission of its founder Mahatma Hans Raj Ji who believed that education and specifically girl education can provide a right direction to the society.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen bowed to all the stalwarts of Arya Samaj and conveyed the blessings of Padmashree Dr. Punam Suri, President, DAVCMC, New Delhi who optimistically remarked that the institution is not far away from making its mark on the world map. Calling it a happening institute where each new day is marked with positive activities, she unfolded the two new projects to be launched on the day. The very generous, benign and magnanimous Principal Dr. Sareen gave the credit of the success of the institution to all the faculty, staff and students.
Quoting a Chinese proverb, Justice (Retd.) Sh. N.K. Sud said that ‘paths are made by walking’. He blessed and inspired the young students to create their own paths and achieve success. The society needs radical changes and its the responsibility of the youth to put this into action. Eulogizing the efforts put up by Dr. Sareen, Sh. Surendra Seth prompted everyone to bear a smile on their faces and lead righteously and persistently towards their goals.
The event proceeded towards the launching of donation boxes under ‘Prayas’, an initiative of the Innovation Cell, capably lead by Dr. Ramnita Saini Sharda, Dean Innovation. Everyone can donate as little as Rs.1/- per day and the money collected will be used to buy books for the needy students. The institution will contribute equally in the collection and donate an equal amount as collected in the donation boxes which will be set up in the campus. Another venture of the Innovation Cell is the setting up of indigenous earthen water pots for the passer bys, in the green belt area at the entrance of the college. Yet another inauguration witnessed on the eminent day was of the Inno Tech Centre for the use of students. Mrs. Kuljit Kaur Athwal recited a self composed poem on the achievements of the institution. The gathering also enjoyed a choreography presented by Student Council under the guidance of Mrs. Urvashi Mishra, Dean Student Council highlighting the lustrous journey of the institution from Lahore to present day. A Langar was arranged for all at the gate. The event concluded with the soulful rendition of National Anthem. The stage was conducted by Dr. Anjana Bhatia.
