A Guest Lecture Organized at Apeejay Institute of Management and Engineering Technical Campus

Jalandhar August 8 (Gurkirat Singh)- The Corporate Relations Cell of Apeejay Institute of Management and Engineering Technical Campus under the guidance of Director Dr. Rajesh Bagga organized a guest lecture on ‘How to be Successful in the Present Competitive Times?’ The resource persons for the motivational lecture were Mr. Ahsanul Haq, President, Jalandhar Management Association and Mr. Rohan Dutta, Life Skills Coach. The lecture was a part of the induction programme being organized for new entrants of BBA, BCOM (H), BTECH, MBA and MCA. Mr. Haq said that one has to start from first identifying the aims, aspirations or objectives of his life. We should choose a goal that we truly enjoy and then commit ourselves to it. He said we will have to confront innumerable obstacles on our way of achieving our aims but we should not be disillusioned by them. On the contrary we should keep on self examining ourselves so that each mistake becomes a learning experience for us. Mr. Haq further gave some valuable tips to students t become more employable. These include making one’s identity on web by creating own webportal, making video resumes rather than textual. He also highlighted the importance of making optimum and productive use of social networking websites. He also added tha in the present times there is lot of emphasis on knowledge management and many educational institutes are running courses on them. He also explained the options available for engineers with right skill-set in foreign countries and organiztions like Japan, United Nations. Mr. Rohan Dutta, Life Skills Coach conducted a session on improving soft skills as well. These included using the power of hand to remember words and phrases, trying speaking tongue twisters, using a vocabulary which is not conventional. Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director, Apeejay Institute of Management and Engineering Technical Campus, thanked worthy resource person and expressed that the lecture must have enlightened, inspired and motivated the students and that they would be benefited by it.
