Jalandhar December 6 (Jaswinder Azad)- A two-day workshop on ‘Taping Technique’ organised by the Department of Physiotherapy, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar commenced with an enlightening opening day session. The proceedings on day 11 were inaugurated by the chief guest Prof. Shyamal Koley, Head, Department of Physiotherapy, Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar. College Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra and Dr. Raju Sharma Head, Department of Physiotherapy, duly welcomed the chief guest with a bouquet of flowers. In his address, Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra informed about the activities of the college Physiotherapy department especially the service rendered to the social surroundings and he also discussed the plans to add new courses to the Department of Physiotherapy. Chief Guest Prof. Koley lauded the efforts of the Physiotherapy Department of Lyallpur Khalsa College for organising this workshop while also discussing the potential of extending physiotherapy and its techniques to other areas of scientific study for a much needed interdisciplinary approach. The opening day of the workshop also witnessed the presence of Chief Speaker Dr. Piyush Singh from the Indian Spinal Cord Injury Centre, New Delhi and the holder of Master in Orthopaedic Sports Degree from the University of South Australia. On this occasion, Dr. Piyush provided a practical demonstration of the taping technique therapy to the students. Head of the College Physiotherapy Department, Dr. Raju Sharma informed about the various facets and the importance of this workshop while also discussing the activities and achievements of the department. The occasion was also witnessed by Dr. Jaswant Kaur, Dr. Priyank Sharda, Dr. Richa, Dr. Rajveer and students of the department.
