Apeejay College of Fine Arts organised a one day workshop on Contemporary Forms of Dance

Jalandhar April 29 (Jaswinder Azad)- Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar’s Department of Dance organised a one day workshop on Contemporary Forms of Dance on the occasion of International Dance Day. The resource person of the day was Mr. Sanjeev Jimmy Wadhwa, a renowned choreographer and Director, Sanjeev Jimmy Dance Academy and School of Performing Arts. He is an expert of various classical dances like Indian Folk Dance forms, Bollywood Fusion and Bollywood Traditional Dance Training, Western Global Dance Form and Theme based Choreographies.
In the workshop, Mr. Wadhwa told the students to focus on the points and relax the body; so that dance could come naturally to them. He trained 30 students on the melodious tunes of “Main Tenu Samjhawa Ki”. The students and the Teachers as well enjoyed the workshop a lot.
Principal Dr. Sucharita Sharma opined that Apeejay is always forefront in celebrating and promoting art in various forms. She added that such workshops are like Cherry on the cake as it adds to the theoretical knowledge of the students. She congratulated Dr. Amita Mishra and Dr. Micky Verma on successfully organizing the workshop.
