CT students bag first position in Bhangra on second day of IKG-PTU Zonal Youth Fest

Jalandhar October 17 (Jaswinder Azad)- On the second day of IK Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKG PTU) Zonal Youth Fest, rocking Bhangra, Skit and Mime performances by young talent enthralled the audience at CT Group of Institutions, Shahpur Campus. The students of CT Institute of Engineering, Management and Technology (CTIEMT) won first prizes in Bhangra, Vaar Singing, Classical Vocal Solo, Skit whereas DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology (DAVIET) bagged first positions in Mime, Cartooning, Mehendi.
This year, the theme of the festival is Youth against Drugs while it is dedicated to 150 years of Mahatma Gandhi. The day included number of enchanting performances and events. The events were Skit, Mime, Bhangra, Classical Vocal (Solo), Debate, Elocution, Poem Recitation, Cartooning, On the spot Painting, and Mehndi.
On the first day of the fest, DAVIET won first prizes in Group Shabad, Mimicry, Group Song Indian, Light Vocal Indian (Solo), Punjabi Folk Song, Creative Writing (Poem), Clay Modelling, Rangoli, Collage Making and Still Photography, whereas CTIEMT bagged first prizes in One Act Play and Creative Writing (Story).
Charanjit Singh Channi, Chairman, CT Group of Institutions, Manbir Singh, Managing Director, and Harpreet Singh, Vice Chairman, Campus Director Dr. GS Kalra and Cultural Officer Davinder Singh felicitated the judges and dignitaries for gracing the event with their presence.
Charanjit Singh Channi, Chairman, CT Group of Institutions said that the performances today were extremely outstanding and showcased the talent of young generation. “We must encourage our students to come forward and exhibit their abilities so that they can stay away from the scenario of drugs.”
