DIPS CO-EDUCATION AND B.ED COLLEGES DHILWAN HOLD CONVOCATION AND PRIZE DISTRIBUTION

Jalandhar March 31 (Jaswinder Azad)- Annual prize distribution and convocation were held at DIPS co-education and B.ED colleges Dhilwan (Kapurthala) .Dr.Tarlok Singh Benipal, Dean of Colleges Development Douncil, Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar, was the chief guest and DR. Navdeep Singh, head of psychology department was the guest of honourat the function. S.Gurbachan Singh, chairman DIPS Chain of Institutions, CAO Ramneek Singh, vice-Chairperson Preetinder Kaur, CEO Monica Mandotra and Jashan Singhalso graced the occasion.Director B.ed colleges Mrs. Kanchan Kohli and Co-ordinator Harpreet Kaur Provided valuable guidance and supervised the celebrations.G.M KBPS Bal also present.
The function started with the lightning of lamp by the chief guest and other dignitaries . College students recited a ‘shabad’ from ‘’Gurbani ” which sanctified the celebrations . About 490 graduates and post graduates were awarded degrees while 130 students were given prizes for their excellent achievements.
Miss Sunaina kumari and Ms Jasdeep kaur of B.ED college were declared all- round best for the session 2015-17 and the session 2016-18 respectively. Special prizes were given to Sandeep kaur and Ramandeep kaur for being the best artists, Sunita Raj and Harvinder Singh as best social workers and Manbir kaur and Manvir Kaur for being best in discipline and regularity.
Delivering the key-note address DR. Benipal remarked that acquiring education is a very tough task, but the ultimate reward is very sweet.He called upon the graduates and would-be-teachers to cultivate the habits of honesty, sincerity and hard work to scale the summit of success. He congratulated the achievers on their brilliant success.
Cultural items like Bhangra and Giddha were also presented on the occasion Mrs Renuka , acting Principal of co-ed college and Dr.Mukesh kumar, acting Principal of B.ED college read the annual reports of their respective colleges. The function came to a close with the singing of National Anthem.
