Jalandhar 14 September (Jaswinder Azad)- The mortal remains of eminent journalist of South Asia and peacenick Kuldip Nayar, who breathed his last on 23rd of August at New Delhi will be immersed on 16th September in Ravi near the border town Ramdas. Giving information regarding this, Satnam Singh Manak, General Secretary Hind-Pak Dosti Manch and Ramesh Yadav, President Folklore Research Academy informed that the family members of Mr Nayar comprising of Sudhir Nayar, Rajiv Nayar, Kavita Nayar, Kanika Nayar, Kartik Nayar, Mandira Nayar, Aditiya Diwan and Pushap Raj will reach Amritsar along with the mortal remains on the evening of 15th September and these will be kept at Virsa Vihar for the people to pay obeisance to the departed soul on 16th of September between 9 AM to 11 AM. After this the mortal remains will be immersed in Ravi near Ramdas. The same evening at 4 p.m. a sapling will be planted at Attari-Wagah border in the memory of Mr Nayar by his family and the members of Hind-Pak Dosti Manch, Folklore Research Academy, Sarbat da Bhala Trust and other fans of Mr Nayar. It is worthwhile to mention that Mr Kuldip Nayar along with his companions used to light candles for years on Attari-Wagah border to give the message of peace and friendship to the people of India and Pakistan. This was started by him in 1996 and is still continuing without break.
