Jalandhar 24 September (Jaswinder Azad)- GNA University, Celebrated Engineering Week 2018 with full of creativity, enthusiasm and new concepts for giving a warmth tribute to an extremely prolific Indian Engineer and 19th Diwan of Mysore Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya (Bharat Ratna, 1955).
This week was inaugurated by S. Gurdeep Singh Sihra (CEO GNA Gears & Pro-Chancellor GNA University) and Dr. SK Mishra (Registrar, NIT Jalandhar) with a traditional flair of Lamp Lighting. The week was full of outstanding events which include Technical and Non-technical like Gaming, Project Exhibition & Competitions like Cyclo Mania, CAD Designing, Die Development, Logo Design, Robo Race with hurdles, Web Development, Leveling, etc. & Guest Lectures and Industrial visitors for the buddy engineers. More than 500 students of F in around 17 events. These events were organized with the objective to provide a platform for the engineers to showcase their talent with a competitive Spirit. At the beginning of the week, Dr. S.K. Mishra emphasized the need of entrepreneurship in the today scenario. Mr. Kamaljeet Kainth was the overall coordinator of this week.
Next day a team of TAFE Motors and Tractors led by Mr. Alok Mam (Sr. Vice president) visited the university and shared his views with the students towards industry expectation. As per Mr. Alok views CAD, CAM, CAE, and FDM technology are used in every step of the industry.
Also, there is Inauguration of the SAE India Chapter during this week. SAE India is a strategic alliance partner of SAE International.The aerospace department organizes a two days’ workshop Quad copter in association with Skyfi Labs – Aerotrix, IIT Kanpur.
A Seminar was arranged on Revealing Brain Potential with the Scientific method by Brain key supported by Sun Beam Auto Pvt. Limited.On closing of the week S. Gurdeep Singh Sihra distributed the Cash Prizes, Medal and certificates to the winners and wishes him a prosperous life. Dr. V K Rattan Vice chancellor GNA University, Dr. Vikrant Sharma, Dean- Engineering & Technology and Mr C.R. Tripathy, Dean Design & Innovation accomplished the whole week and guided the students towards new innovation in the field of Engineering.
S. Gurdeep Singh Sihra appreciated the efforts of Faculty of Engineering, Design and Automation to enhance the technical skill set of buddy engineers and to provide them platform where they can exhibit the knowledge.
