Faculty Development Program inaugurated at LKC

Jalandhar December 19 (Jaswinder Azad)- Faculty Development Program on “Computational Statistics & Data Analysis” was organized by PG Department of Computer Science & IT of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar in technical collaboration with Soft computing Research society. New Delhi. The inauguration was held on Wednesday in which Dr. Narpinder Singh, Director Research, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar was the chief Guest while Dr. Satich Chand from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi was the Guest of Honour. The Guest formally inaugurated the program along with college Principal Dr. Gurpinder Signh Samra, HOD & Convenor of program Dr. Manohar Singh, Cordinator Dr. Baldev Singh & Prof. Sandeep Bassi. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Narpinder Singh talked about the importance of statitics in research and the relevance of such programs in contemporary times. Principal Dr. GS. Samra talked about the research infrastructure & modern teaching practices being adopted in the college. HOD Dr. Manohar Singh talked about the vision behind organising this program and welcomed more than 57 participants from various institutions who are attending this program. Earlier Dr. Satish Chand was the resource person for the day. During his sessions, he talked about the social aspect of clustering and temporal data. During this FDP, Dr Gurwinder Singh form GNDU, Amritsar, Dr. Hardeep Singh form GNDU, Amritsar, Dr. Anupam Yadav from NIT, Jalandhar, Dr. Parshant Singh Rana from Thapar University, Patiala, Dr Arun Kumar form IIT, Ropar & Dr. Alok K. Singh Kushwaha form IKG PTU, Jalandhar will address the participants during various sessions dedicated to Data Science, Data Analytics, etc. During the function Dr. Daljit Kaur & Ms. Jaspreet Kaur Bains conducted the stage.
