Fiesta – The Trade Fair 2019 at HMV

Jalandhar February 3 (Jaswinder Azad)- Speckled with the colours of a variety of stalls and the vibrant garbs of the students, the much awaited Annual Fete Fiesta – The Trade Fair 2019 was organized at Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. The chief guest Smt. Parveen Sharma and Sh. Varinder Kumar Sharma, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Jalandhar, Guest of Honour Smt. and Sh. Arvind Ghai, Secretary DAVCMC, Mrs. Pratibha Jorwal W/o Mr. Jatindra Jorwal, IAS, ADC (Dev.) Jalandhar, members of Local committee Dr. Pawan Gupta, Sh. Kundan Lal Aggarwal, Sh. S.P. Sehdev and Mrs. Nirmal Dhawan were accorded green welcome after the Mangal Tilak by Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen and Dr. Seema Marwaha, Fete Incharge. The chief guest Sh. Varinder Kumar Sharma, IAS, Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar gave his blessings to the students saying that such events are an integral part of education and enhance many skills of the students. He declared the Fete open by releasing balloons carrying the logo of the HMV Fiesta. He felicitated the teaching and non-teaching staff for the successful organization of the event.
Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Sareen lauded the efforts of the PG department of Commerce and Management for organizing the Trade Fair with a view to instil marketing and organization skills among the students. The Incharge of the Trade Fair, Mrs. Meenu Kohli stated that the Trade Fair is a platform for students to showcase their talent and hone their skills. The main attractions of the fair were knowledge point, apparel spot, financial institutions, health care, beauty saloons, immigration services, tarot card reading, etc. Total 57 stalls were put up and a very good response was received by the participating institutions.
The guests enjoyed the performance of Ms. Surbhi, the prize winning Mimicry artist, choreography on demonetization by the students of Commerce department and other cultural events like Giddha and Bhangra. A Fashion Show was also organized on the occasion. The honoured judges were Mrs. Navroop, Coordinator Fashion Show, Mrs. Mamta, Dr. Ekta Khosla, Mrs. Veena Arora and Dr. Sangeeta Arora. The title of Ms. Stylish was awarded to HImani, Ms. Ethnic to Prabhsimraj Kaur, Ms. Charming to Kashman, Ms. Elegant to Archana Luthra and Ms. Fete to Harman. RJ Garry entertained the audience. Adding to the grandeur of the show was the presence of eminent singers Feroz Khan and Ranjeet Rana. They enthralled the audience by their famous songs.
In the evening session, the chief guest Dr. M.C. Sharma, Hony. Treasurer, DAVCMC and Guest of Honour Dr. Satish Kumar Sharma, Director (Colleges), DAVCMC New Delhi, Sh. Surendra Seth, Member Local Committee, Dr. Rajeev Deol, Offg. Principal of DRV DAV Cent. College, Phillaur graced the occasion. Principal Dr. Sareen welcomed and honoured the guests. Raffle draw worth various prizes was organized. The chief guest and the guest of honour congratulated the winners. Dr. Seema Marwaha, Fiesta Incharge thanked the guests and staff members for the successful conduct of the event. The stage was compered by Dr. Anjana Bhatia and Dr. Nidhi Bal. On this occasion, members of teaching and non-teaching staff were also present.
