HMV celebrates first Anniversary of it’s campus Radio AWAAZ

Jalandhar November 16 (Gurkirat Singh)- On the occasion of National Press Day, Post Graduate Department of Mass Communication and Video Production celebrated the first anniversary of Radio Awaaz with gaiety and fervor where RJ Jassi from Chandigarh featured as the resource person. Head of the Department Mrs. Rama Sharma welcomed Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen and all the dignitaries and due formal obeisance. Assistant Professor Mrs. Jyoti Seghal welcomed the esteemed invitees in the Morning Campus show where the guests gave their best wishes for radio AWAAZ’s first anniversary. RJ Jassi congratulated the department and said, “Radio AWAAZ is a great platform for the students where they get a first hand exposure of  radio station working procedures”. The celebrations proceeded with a cake cutting ceremony. Principal Prof Dr. (Mrs) Ajay Sareen thanked the Guest RJ Jassi by presenting him a robe and a planter. She also accorded a warm welcome to Editor Dr. Varinder Walia, Programming Head Madam Seema Soni, Rj Mannat, RJ Garry and RJ Rajan. Expressing the galore of her love, Madam Sarren conveying her wishes, said HMV campus radio station which caters to all the needs of the students where all the production work, including the selection of the topic, script writing, programming and editing is done by the students only. The students participated in interactive session with RJ Jassi enthusiastically and came up with a number of questions about the challenges he faced during his jockeying journey. Principal Sareen applauded and congratulated the HOD Mrs. Rama Sharma and efforts of the department for organizing the first anniversary celebrations of their campus Radio. Assistant Professor Mangla Sahni conducted the stage and gave a vote of thanks at the end of this session. Teaching and non-teaching staff also relished the moments along with the students who pledged to take the right steps forth for the development and enhancement of AWAAZ for themselves and their junior years.
