HMV got ASSOCHAM Education Excellence Award

Jalandhar February 21 (Jaswinder Azad)- Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, the premier institute of North India has been awarded with the prestigious, ASSOCHAM Education Excellence Award. The award is aimed at recognizing the excellent contribution of the institution in fostering affordable quality education and taking initiatives for social responsibility and nurture an atmosphere of excellence.
Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen received the award from Sh. Suresh Prabhu, Hon’ble Minister of Commerce and Industry and Civil Aviation and Sh. Pranab Mukherji, Hon’ble Former President of India. The award was bestowed during 12th ASSOCHAM National Education Summit 2019. The inaugural session was addressed by Hon’ble Minister for HRD, Govt. of India Sh. Prakash Javadekar. More than 200 dignitaries from MHRD, AICTE, AIU, UGC, NCTE adorned the occasion.
Among the dignitaries present were Prof. Dr. M.P. Poonia, Vice Chairman, AICTE, Padmashri Dr. Prof. Pritam Singh, Hony. DG, MREI and Chairman Strategic Mentoring Board, Sh. Uday Verma, Secretary of General ASSOCHAM, Dr. Prashant Bhalla, President, MREI, Prof. G.D. Sharma, Former Secretary, UGC, Dr. Ramaswamy, Professor University of New York among a galaxy of other educationalists.
The institution was rewarded for its achievements in Higher Educational Sector and received special honour for its contributions in Excellence in Serving for a social cause by the jury. The eminent jury was headed by Padmashri Dr. Prof. Pritam Singh, Hony. DG MREI and Chairman, Strategic Mentoring Board, and Ex. Director IIM, Lucknow.
Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen said that Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya has become the first institution of Punjab and first women institution to receive this award. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Sareen thanked Hon’ble President DAV College Managing Committee Padmashree Dr. Punam Suri for his guidance and continuous support and also congratulated the staff and faculty of HMV.
