Jalandhar July 9 (Jaswinder Azad)- The PG Department of Mass Communication and Video Production of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya is providing students with the best of the exposure to print, broadcast and New Media under the guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen and highly qualified and experienced faculty. The department organises regular lectures and workshops by experts of the industry. It is offering two year Master’s Programme in Journalism and Mass Communication, three year B.Voc. degree in Journalism and Media, one year diploma in Journalism and Media under Community college scheme of UGC, Journalism and Video Production as vocational subjects in B.A. The students are given a blend of theory and Practical and training in media skills. Head of department Mrs. Rama Sharma said that the theory and practical are integrated to give all around knowledge of media industry and the students are trained rigorously so that they can have placements in media houses directly after the completion of the course. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen told that the department has its own Campus Radio-Radio Awaaz that gives students a platform to learn the skills of broadcasting. The students of the department are already performing well in regional and national print and broadcast media. The students have also brought laurels to the institution by securing top positions in the university.
