Jalandhar December 18 (Jaswinder Azad)- Zoology department of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.)Ajay Sareen organized a workshop on Hematology. Dr. Parvinder Kaur, Veterinary Officer, Civil Hospital was the resource person for the workshop. Dr. Seema Marwaha, Head of Zoology Department, Mrs. Meenakshi Syal, School Coordinator and other faculty members of Zoology department accorded green welcome to Dr. Parvinder Kaur. Dr. Kaur enlightened students about composition of blood, its function and about various blood tests including TLC, DLC, CBC, tests for parasitic infection. She also discussed in detail about the precautions to be taken and the errors occurred during Lab testing procedures. Students of Medical Lab Technology and other B.Sc. Medical students attended the workshop. Hands on training for blood smear preparation, staining, separation and identification of parasites in blood was provided to students by Dr. Kaur. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Sareen congratulated and appreciated the efforts of the department. Dr. Sakshi Verma conducted the stage. Ms. Avantika Randev, Ms. Anchal Bawa, Mr. Arvind Chandi, Mr. Sachin Kumar, and Mr. Amit Kumar were also present on this occasion.
