Institution of Engineers hold seminar on Solid Waste Management at CT Group

Jalandhar October 26 (Jaswinder Azad)- The Institution of Engineers (India) Ludhiana Local chapter in association with the CT Group of Institutions, Shahpur Campus held a seminar on Solid Waste Management.
Welcoming the Chief Guest Charanjit Singh Channi, Chairman, Brig. Mastinder Singh, SM Chairman IE(I), Ludhiana Local Centre said that Solid Waste management is one of the important parameters for smart city. Brig. Mastinder Singh also pose a wide variety of administrative, economic, and social problems that must be managed and solved.
Er. Balbir Singh, Ex-council member, IE(I) while giving introduction about activities of the institution said that institution of Engineers (India) was one of the oldest bodies of engineers which was incorporated vide Royal Charter in 1920.
In his technical lecture Dr. Puneet Pal Singh Cheema, AP, GNDEC, Ludhiana said solid waste is becoming a big problem for municipalities around the world and needs to be addressed at war footing. He gave numerous way outs to manage the municipal solid waste effectively. Ar. Arpan in his expert lecture gave an insight of technical challenges in solid waste. In his technical address, Ar. Parminder said that use of natural resources for constructing buildings was catching up and this augured well for making the world a better place.
Charanjit Singh Channi, Chairman, CT Group of Institutions said that with the world of technology changing rapidly, the students need to be more innovative to find solutions to the problems around them.
Present on the occasion were Ar. Shruti, HOD(Architecture), Er. Gurpreet Singh Walia, Honorary Secretary, IE(I), Dr. Arvind Dhingra, Ex-Honorary Secretary, IE(I), students and faculty.
