Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage and Autonomous Institution to organize a Three-Day International Conference

25 Foreign Scholars from 14 Countries to Grace the Conference
Delegates & Presenters from 20 States of India will join
Jalandhar March 5 (Jaswinder Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage & Autonomous Institution, Jalandhar organized a press conference on March 05,2019 to acquaint the media fraternity about a 3- day International Conference that is being organized by KMV on English Studies Across & Beyond Borders (ICES-19) from March 06 to 08, 2019 in collaboration with ESBB(English Scholars Beyond Borders) a not-for-profit organisation of international scholars. While addressing the media fraternity during the press conference, Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi, Principal KMV averred that the present international conference will serve as a forum for discussing current issues and insights in the teaching of English language and literature, cultural studies and multilingualism. It will also provide an apt platform for refining thoughts, sharing concerns and receiving constructive feedback during enabling and enriching experience spanning over three days. The students will stand to gain a lot from this Conference.
She further maintained that it is a matter of singular honour for KMV to host eminent scholars and savants from 14 countries and 20 states of India. Distinguished luminaries of international standing from leading universities of US, UK, Japan, Canada, South Africa , Serbia, Scotland, Oman, UAE, Taiwan, Afghanistan, India, Tunisia and Hungary will grace the Conference. The Conference will experience an overwhelming participation is apparent from the pleasant fact that scholars from Maharashtra, Goa, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttrakhand, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha and Gujarat are participating in it. Briefing the media about the conference schedule, Prof. Sharma maintained that during the Inaugural Ceremony on March 06, 2019 at 10:00 am, Dr. John Unger, USA will be the Chief Guest, Dr Theron Muller, Prof. Vivian Wu, Prof. Z.N. Patil, Prof. Malavika Shetty and Mr. Alok Sondhi will be the Guests of Honour. Dr Roger Nunn will deliver the keynote address and the Presidential remarks will be made by Mr Chander Mohan, President, Arya Shiksha Mandal. Cultural Extravaganza- A Gala Evening-Cum-Dinner will also be organised on March 06, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. which will be a befitting attempt to give a peep to all present into our rich cultural legacy. Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar, Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma, Deputy Commissioner, Jalandhar, Mr. Jasbir Singh, ADC, Mr Jagdish Raj Raja, Mayor, Jalandhar, and many other dignitaries will be the Honoured Guests for the cultural evening. Other luminous citizens of Jalandhar and academicians will also be present on the occasion.
She further adumbrated that it is a great matter of fact that the college have already registered more than 200 paper presenters for the conference and the number is constantly on the rise. It is because of this overwhelming participation that paper presentations will be organised in 5 parallel venues during all three days. More than 600 students have also got themselves registered as delegates for this Conference and the number is still increasing. 50 college students are also presenting papers during this conference. A souvenir carrying the abstracts of the papers to be presented will also be released on the occasion.
