KMV celebrates a Environment Protection Week to Commemorate World Earth Day

Jalandhar April 23 (Jaswinder Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage and Autonomous Institution, Jalandhar’s Environment Science Department organized a week of environmental activities to celebrate Earth day to sensitize students to save our planet. The Department organized various activities slogan writing Competition, cleanliness drive and mega plant donation camp throughout the week in which around 350 students of different streams actively participated. They also accentuated many other issues like Water Conservation, save planet, Save trees etc. through their art of slogan. Meanwhile some students donated various types of plants of medicinal importance and ornamental plants. The appreciation awards has been given to the students of commerce, arts and medical stream’s anchal, Nandani, Manjot, Aditi rai, Gurpreet, Gunjan and Mannat as well as admiring all the students. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred the need to save earth. She also delivered a thought provoking discourse on essentialities to Contain the continuous decreasing environment situations. She appreciated all the students for joining the cause and asked them to remain connected to such initiatives in future too. Such activities are indeed the need of the hour as they can play a pivotal role in bringing awareness in the people. She congratulated the organizers of the event including Ms. Sadhna Tondon, Head Environment Science Department for organizing such a significant activities.
