KMV Organizes a One Day Seminar on Medieval Hindi Poetry

Jalandhar March 29 (Jaswinder Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage & Autonomous institution, Jalandhar’ PG Department of Hindi organized a one day seminar. The resource person for the seminar was Dr. Ashok Sabharwal, Associate Professor, Punjab University, Chandigarh. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi gave a floral welcome to the resource person. During his lecture, Dr Sabharwal emphasized on the human values present in the Hindi poetry of Medieval Age of Saints & Bhakts and also motivated the young students to take inspiration from these values. Dr Sabharwal during his lecture also shed light on social, religious, philosophical and human aspects of the Medieval Hindi poetry. He also emphasized on the fact that the poetry of Medieval Age is always relevant for the betterment of humankind and in order to comprehend its relevance it is very pertinent to analyze it as only then one can understand its interpretation and then only the social and human aspect of it can be explained. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that poetry is one of the finest art of humankind as only through poetry the sensitivity and human values can be aroused in the hearts of the people. She also maintained that poetry can act as a great medium for the young students to understand the subtle human emotions and values. After the lecture, question and answer session was also conducted in which many inquisitive students asked various questions to the resource person. The vote of thanks was given by Dr Vinod Kalra, Head, PG Department of Hindi. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi lauded the efforts of the PG Department of Hindi for organizing such fruitful and knowledgeable activities. She averred that these types of activities are a regular feature in KMV as we provide the best environment for the overall development of the students.
