Jalandhar August 25 (Jaswinder Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya-The Heritage and Autonomous Institution, Ranked No. 1 in India by India Today Ranking, 2019 always endeavours for the holistic development and achieving excellence in the field of education and promoting quality research to enhance the skills through academics training on campus. Continuing with the same practice, PG Department of Commerce & Business Administration organised a One Day workshop on Soft Skills. Dr. Manjit Singh, Professor and Head, University School of Applied Management, Punjabi University, Patiala was the resource person on the occasion. Addressing the students, he discussed that the jobs are now skill based & that the need of the hour is skill enhancement such as computing skills, communication skills, problem solving skills, logic and reasoning or aptitude testing skills. He also highlighted the fact that for being an asset for the company, one must imbibe the leadership qualities. Faculty and the students had a very fruitful and interactive session with the resource person. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi extended her gratitude to the speaker for spending his valuable time and enriching the students and the faculty on soft skills. She averred that in today’s competitive world, students need to have an effective & powerful communication and leadership skills in order to excel in every field. She also congratulated the faculty of Department of Commerce & Business Administration for organizing such meaningful and fruitful activities.
