Jalandhar October 29 (Jaswinder Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Autonomous & Heritage Institution, Jalandhar always take a lead in contributing to the government schemes & initiatives for the public good. Keeping with this trend, Department of Political Science and Public Administration organized a one day workshop on ”Voter Registration” in order to sensitize the youth for their maximum participation in the upcoming Lok Sabha election to be held in the year 2019. Mr Paramjeet Singh, Secretary, Zila Parishad, Mr Dharampal, Mr Harjinder Singh Sethi (Engineer) Municipal Corporation and Ms Ashima Sahni were the key resource persons during the workshop. Teachers and the students who were appointed as the Campus Nodal Officers and Campus Ambassadors by their respective institutions falling under 036 Jalandhar North Constituency participated in the workshop. The session was started by Mr Paramjeet Singh who gave a thorough information about the voter registration followed by Mr Harjinder Singh Sethi who discussed about the various technical issues related to the Form No 6,7 and 8. Ms Ashima Sahni focussed on skills, techniques, methods adopted by KMV SVEEP Nodal Officers and Campus Ambassadors to ensure complete and maximum voter registration inside and outside the campus. She further shared her innovative ideas with the help of PowerPoint Presentation for the smooth functioning of electoral literacy clubs by involving maximum students. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi lauded the initiative taken by the Department of Political Science and Public Administration and also motivated the students to use SVEEP platform as an opportunity for their service to the society as well as to acquaint themselves with their Fundamental Duties and to ensure the smooth functioning of the Democracy.
