KMV Organizes a Two Day Workshop by Famous Psychologist Dr Dwarka Pershad on Intelligence Assessment Techniques

Intelligence Assessment TechniquesJalandhar September 25 (Jaswinder Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage & Autonomous institution, Ranked No.1 in India by India Today Ranking organized a two day workshop on ”Intelligence Assessment Techniques”. Highly Acclaimed Psychologist Dr Dwarka Pershad, PGI, Chandigarh was the eminent resource person. During the workshop, the resource person gave detailed knowledge about various techniques to assess intelligence. Elaborate demonstrations of the administration of Intelligence test were also done during the workshop. During the end of the workshop, interactive sessions were also conducted in which students asked various questions to the resource person to which Dr Dwarka responded very clearly and satisfied the curiosity of the students. Students from undergraduate as well as postgraduate courses participated in this workshop with great zeal and enthusiasm. Principal Prof.(Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that these types of programs are essential for better understanding and conceptual clarity of the students. She further maintained that such programs helps in the uplifitment of the spiritual and emotional well being of human beings and society as a whole. She also lauded the efforts of PG Department of Psychology for organizing such meaningful and informative workshop. It is worth a mention here that the students of Psychology department have excellent placements. KMV has also signed an MOU with Eotvos Lorand University, Hungary under which it was decided to organize Faculty Exchange Programs which will result in the professional visits of the faculty to each campus for familiarization with their counterparts and for possible development of mutually beneficial programs. Recently Prof. Robert Urban, Professor in Health Psychology from Eotvos Lorand University, Institute of Psychology, Hungary came as a guest faculty to KMV. During his stay he delivered lectures on a very influential topic of ‘Motivational Interviewing’ and made the students aware that how this emerging field can be used to help the people and also to persuade them to change their unhealthy habits. Dr Robert also conducted many efficient practical exercises related to the Motivational Interviewing, and as a result the students had a great experience of enriching their knowledge related to the vast field of Counselling.
