Jalandhar 22 September (Gurkirat Singh)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage & Autonomous institution, Jalandhar’s department of Home-Science organized ‘Nutrition Week’. On the occasion, a PowerPoint Presentation competition was organized for PG Diploma in Nutrition & Dietics. Cooking competition was also organized for B.Voc. students. Many delicious recipes were prepared by the students of Home Science. The students of B.Voc. in Nutrition, Exercise and Health organized a free health check up camp for 100 students of the college. During the camp, weight, height, Body Mass Index, Blood Pressure, Pulse rate and Haemoglobin levels of the students were checked. Iron tablets were also distributed free of cost to the students having haemoglobin levels less than 10mg/ 100ml. Another cooking competition named ‘Healthy Junk’ was also organized for B.Voc students of Nutrition, Exercise and Health in which Nistha stood first and Mansi of B.Voc. of Sem. I stood second. Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi appreciated the efforts of the students and also congratulated the department for organizing such events.
