KMV Organizes Sci-bration 2019 Under DBT Star College Scheme

Jalandhar February 8 (Jaswinder Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya – the Autonomous & Heritage institution, Jalandhar organized Sci-bration 2019, the celebration of science and innovation under DBT Star college scheme sponsored by Department of Bio-technology (DBT), Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. The main aim for conducting this competition is to create the scientific temper among the student community. In all more than 300 students participated in the competition and in various events namely Sci-On Stage Contest, Sci-Creative, Sci-Bhumika, Sci-Colors, Sci-Flora, Sci-Food Fiesta. The chief guest for the occasion was Dr Sushma Chopra, (Secretary, KMV Managing Committee) and a renowned doctor of the city. Principal Prof.(Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi along with the chief guest and the members of the organizing team lighted the holy lamp to mark the auspicious commencement of the event. Madam Principal addressed the gathering and averred that all such events are meant for the students and the students are the heroes of such activities. She also adumbrated on the fact that the aim of the event is to develop the spirit of science and to provide platform to the students to explore their hidden potential and to develop their complete persona by inculcating discipline and hard work in life so that they can surpass in all kinds of activities. The chief guest of the event Dr Sushma Chopra laid her emphasis on the role of science in today’s world and told that Science is instrumental in the development of our nation. She urged the students to showcase their talent and to develop adaptable, creative and motivated individuals who can take responsibility for their own learning and also work effectively in terms for betterment of society. She encouraged the students to become good scientists, innovators and rise above the orthodox and unexamined practices, and helps in building up a society where all are healthy, happy and equal. Dr Updesh, Dr Manju Sahni, Mrs Parminder, Dr Gopi Sharma and Dr Neetu were present on the occasion. Principal Prof.(Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi lauded the efforts of the science faculty for the successful organization of the event. Dr. Updesh, Dr. Madhumeet, Dr. Manju and Dr. Neetu were judges for various activities.The Overall Trophy was bagged by Khalsa College, Civil Lines, Ludhiana and first runner up was Government College for Girls, Ludhiana. Overall, the Sci-bration 2019 was well planned and conceptualized for all the participants and the audience.
