KMV Pays Nostalgic Tribute to Shaheed-E-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh

Students Organize Rally Against Drug Abuse
Jalandhar March 23 (Jaswinder Azad)- At Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage and Autonomous Institution, Jalandhar, the Martyrdom Day of Shaheed-E-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh was a mixture of pride and sweet remembrances from the historic past of the institution. Speaking on the occasion, Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that every time she thought of the sacrifices of the magnitude of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev, she was indeed humbled. She exhorted one and all to idolize the martyr like Bhagat Singh and carry forward the message of Bhagat Singh as this will be the true tribute to the national hero. She asked all students to contribute to national causes in order to make the nation strong. On this occasion, a rally was also organized by the students of KMV in which the message of Drug Free Punjab was spread and all the students during rally took a pledge to make our nation prosperous and excellent in all spheres. Students carried posters and placards displaying the horrors caused by Drug Abuse. The faculty and the students pledged to fight a war for a Drug Free Punjab and to aid the Punjab government in all its endeavors for the cause. Madam Principal observed that Drug Abuse specially in Punjab is eating into the social fabric and needed to be controlled. She was happy that the students of KMV who were the future nation builders were realizing the horrible outcomes of Drug Abuse. Principal Madam congratulated the organizers Dr Madhumeet, Dean, Student Welfare Department for having passed on such a socially relevant message on this auspicious occasion through the young girls of KMV. The air was ripe with nationalistic fervor and all KMVites proudly recalled how Shaheed Bhagat Singh used to be sheltered in KMV Hostel and was always supported by the patriotic KMVites during his struggle of national freedom.
