Jalandhar October 23 (Jaswinder Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidalaya- the Heritage & Autonomous Institution, Jalandhar has been running Swachh Bharat Summer Internship-2018. Under the able guidance of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi, KMVite Summer Interns brought laurels to the college for their revolutionary Swachhta campaign. Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Dept. of Youth Affairs and Dept. of Higher Education recognised efforts made by KMVits Summer Interns for their participation in Summer internship program 2018 held under Swatchh Bharat Abhiyaan. This program aims to develop awareness and orientation of youth for sanitation related work and the scheme also provides an opportunity to the youth for making a significant contribution to the Swachhta revolution. Under the scheme, a programme was organised at Mubarkpur Sheikhe village adopted by the NSS unit of the college. In the programme, 50 students participated in various activities such as awareness campaigns, cleanliness drive, tree plantation among others with full zeal. Under the awareness campaigns students of village primary school were also shown short movies related to sanitation and special lectures were also organised on the importance of washing hands. Thirty plants were also planted in the school campus and each student of the school was given a responsibility of taking care of the plants. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated the Summer Intern Nodal Officers Ms. Ashima Sahni, Dr Sonik Bhatia, Ms Anandprabha, Ms Rajni Bansal, Dr Iqbal Singh, Ms Shikha Vashist, Ms Rashmi Bindra and Ms Ramanpreet for their efforts.
