Lyallpur Khalsa College honoured prominent former faculty members

Jalandhar December 11 (Jaswinder Azad)- Lyallpur Khalsa College kept up its tradition of recognising the services rendered by its teaching faculty by organising a special program where in college Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra fittingly honoured prominent former faculty members for their multi faceted contributions to the college during their respective occupancies. Former faculty member of the college and former Registrar, Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar, Dr. Inderjit Singh was honoured for his tireless efforts to promote Punjabi folk dance ‘Bhangra’ on an international level. Former member of the PG Department of English and eminent stage personality, Prof. Sarita Tewari was honoured for her tremendous contribution to the field of theatre, discourse, anchoring and numerous meaningful contributions to the governmental and non-governmental spheres for public welfare. Another eminent former faculty member from the PG Department of Punjabi, Dr. Harjinder Singh Atwal was also honoured for his erstwhile services as Dean, Cultural Affairs during his tenure in the college. Speaking on the occasion, Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra proudly mentioned such personalities of the college as the shining lights which have not only contributed to the all round development of students but have also earned great laurels for the college on a global level. Principal Dr. GS Samra vowed to keep up this distinguishing tradition of Lyallpur Khalsa College to honour such outstanding teaching professionals in the near future as well.
