Lyallpur Khalsa College organize EPOCH-2019 program on the theme of ‘Bird Population Conservation’

Jalandhar February 7 (Jaswinder Azad)- The Research ethics of Lyallpur Khalsa College came to the forefront when Zoology and Botany Departments collaborated to organize EPOCH-2019 program on the theme of ‘Bird Population Conservation’. Mr. Tejinder Singh Dhami, Mayor, Ealing (Southall) was the chief guest on this occasion and he was joined by Dr. Tejdeep Kaur Kaler, Professor Zoology, Punjab Agricultural University Ludhiana as the main orator. College Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra and Prof. Jaswinder Kaur, Head of the Life Sciences Department, welcomed the dignitaries with a bouquet of flowers. Speaking on the occasion, Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra highlighted the productivity of the institution in the field of research and the relevance of such events to research in the field of Life Sciences. Chief Guest, Mr. Tejinder Singh Dhami inaugurated the newly shaped museum and an informative exhibition regarding bird species. In her address, Dr. Tejdeep Kaur Kaler discussed the causes behind the extinction of various species and the struggle faced by them for survival on planet earth. The same field and area of study and research was also highlighted as a viable career option for students. Oration competition among 20 students was also held on the occasion and they were honoured for their skilled efforts from the stage. Vote of thanks on this occasion was presented by Prof. Jaswinder Kaur with a vow to continue such efforts on similar themes much to the usefulness of this subject and its students. The program was also observed by Prof. Gagandeep Kaur, Dr. Upma Arora, Dr. Heminder Singh, Prof. Sarabjit Singh, Prof. Sukhpreet Kaur and Prof. Kanika Khanna.
