TO MARK 550TH PARKASH PURAB OF SRI GURU NANAK DEV JIJalandhar October 23 (Jaswinder Azad)- Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Chaudhary Surinder Singh, MLA Mr. Avtar Singh Bawa Henry, Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma and Commissioner of Police Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar today said that the district administration would ensure foolproof arrangements for upcoming International Nagar Kirtan in Jalandhar on November 3 to mark 550th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Presiding over a meeting to review the arrangements for International Nagar Kirtan here today at District Administrative Complex, they said that the nagar kirtan would enter in Jalandhar on November 3 and would move to Sultanpur Lodhi on November 4 after crossing from entire city’s areas.
They said that the administration was duty-bound for making elaborate arrangements so that people could participate in the International Nagar Kirtan with full religious gaiety and enthusiasm. They said that the district administration would leave no stone unturned for making this event a huge success.
Dwelling on another point, they said that requisite arrangements would be made for traffic diversion, parking of vehicles, security arrangements and other facilities during the Nagar Kirtan, so that pilgrims do not face any sort of problem.
They asked every concerned department to make sure that their staff performs the duty diligently for smooth conduct of affairs during the Nagar Kirtan. They said that every officer/ official must ensure that people participating in this Nagar Kirtan do not face any sort of problem. They directed the Municipal Corporation Jalandhar to ensure proper cleanliness of the route of the International Nagar Kirtan, sprinkle water on roads and ensure temporary urinals for the pilgrims participating in this mega event.
Likewise, they asked the Health department to depute Medical teams during the Nagar Kirtan along with medicines and Ambulances to facilitate the people. Both the officers also asked the PSPCL to evolve a mechanism for supplying uninterrupted power during the Nagar Kirtan.
On the occasion Additional Deputy Commissioners Mr Kulwant Singh, Mr. Jasbir Singh, Sub Divisional Magistrates Mr. Rahul Sindhu, Dr Jai Inder Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr. Naresh Dogra, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Ms D Sudarvizhi, MC Joint Commissioner Mr. Harcharan Singh, Assistant Commissioner Mr Warjeet Walia, Ms Shayri Malhotra, District Education Officer (Secondary) Mr. Harinder Pal Singh, Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr. Gurmeet Kaur Duggal and others were present.
