Expert talk by Mr. Harjinder Singh Cheema on entrepreneurship at GNA University

Jalandhar October 15 (Jaswinder Azad)- Mr. Harjinder singh cheema, founder and MD of Cheema Boilers Limited visited GNA University to interact with students and guide them regarding entrepreneurship. Dr. V.K Rattan, Vice Chancellor, GNA University extended a warm welcome to the guest for the talk. Mr. Cheema started his career as a mechanical engineer. His experience, vision and leadership has led the Cheema Boilers Limited to great heights of excellence.
The session started with introduction to “entrepreneurship”. Mr. Cheema motivated and guided the budding engineers through his journey of building CBL all from scratch. Remembering his words that “If he can build a billionaire company of starting it from an amount of Rs.10000, then anybody can”, it’s all about right attitude and focus on your goal. The resource person discussed how starters need to have everything properly planned before start. The guest also spoke about the prerequisites of starting a business and running it in a profitable manner. All this was explained by discussing start-up stories of Paytm, Fresh menu, Flipkart, Ola, Uber, Swiggy as well as their own journey. He also discussed different strategies which entrepreneurs are making to attract customers like free deliveries, exchange policies, discounts through their online apps, concessions on first order etc. Students wanted to know how to spot opportunities and how their education helped the young entrepreneurs with planning, financing and managing their businesses. He conveyed the importance of proper planning and structured learning through education. A short quiz on famous personalities was also well received by the students. The session ended with a question answer round. The session was informative and interactive.
Mr. Gurdeep Singh Sihra, Pro-Chancellor, GNA University thanked Mr. Harjinder Singh for such enlightening session. He emphasized on the fact that in today’s scenario Engineers should become ‘Job Providers’ and not ‘Job Seekers’. Such sessions by great personalities will surely inculcate entrepreneurship skills in students.
