One Day International Conference organized at PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar

Jalandhar 20 February (Jaswinder Azad)- In collaboration with Punjab Bhawan Surrey, Canada Punjabi department of PCM SD College for Women , Jalandhar organized a one day International Conference on Diaspora literature entitled “ Parvas te Parvasi Sahit : Present and Future “. Dr. S.P Singh ( Ex Vice Chancellor of GNDU) was the Chief Guest , S. Gurbajan Singh (Ex President , Punjabi Sahitya Academy , Ludhiana) was the Guest of Honour and Dr. Lakhwinder Singh Johal ( Secretary General Punjab Arts Council Managing Director Media Manch ) was the Key Note Speaker of the conference . Floral welcome was given to the guests by Seth Purushotam Lal Budhia (President of the college managing committee ), Shri8 Vinod Dada (Joint Secretary of the college managing committee ) , Mrs. Chander Mohini Markanda ( Advisor D.S.D Education Board ) and Principal Dr. Kiran Arora . Prof. Surinder Narula ( H.O.D of Punjabi) was the organizer of the conference . She highlighted about the objective of the conference. Guest of Honour Gurbajan Singh Gill also shared his views . A journal “Corrocupia-3” was also released on the occasion. 15 resource person ( S. Darshan Singh , S. Charan Singh from Canada , Dr. Jagir Singh Kahlon , S.Satinder Pal Singh Sidwa , Shri . Manga Basi , S.Amritpal Singh , S.Kulwant Singh , Mrs. Nirmal Singh ) from India and abroad spoke on different aspects of and effects of western lifestyle on Indian diaspora whose chairperson were Dr. Jai Singh ( E.F.L University , Hyderabad ) and Dr. Kirandeep Singh ( H.O.D of Punjabi , LPU ). 125 research scholars from various educational institutions presented research papers in Punjabi , Hindi and English language on different issues confronting the diaspora . Principal Dr. Kiran Arora extended the vote of thanks by giving a memento to the guests. The organizer of the conference Prof Surinder Narula thanked to all. Mrs.Geeta Kahol and Dr. Surinder Saini were stage organizers. Dr. Surinder Saini, Dr. Harkamal Kaur , Dr. Sukhbir Shergill and Mrs. Sarabjit Kaur were present.
