Open Mic competition on the preachings of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji

Jalandhar November 17 (Gurkirat Singh)- Forming a part of the celebrations of 550th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the PG department of Punjabi organized a remarkable open mic event in collaboration with Dainik Jagran, under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. Dr. Varinder Singh Walia, Chief Editor Dainik Jagran, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen accorded a green welcome of planters to Dr. Varinder Walia, Mrs. Tajinder Kaur Thind and Mr. Pawandeep Singh and extolled the efforts of the organizers for the event. Highlighting the similarities between the vast ideology of Arya Samaj and Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji she said that he strongly protested against ritualism and inequalities on the basis of caste and creed along with elevating the position of women in the society. Coherence and consistence marked his ideas and he gave a new direction to the society. The students put up an enthusiastic participation in this event organized under the directions of Mrs. Navroop Kaur, HOD Punjabi. Calling him an iconic man of the era, Mrs. Navroop praised his ideology. She also thanked the Dainik Jagran team for their support.
Mrs. Veena Arora, Mrs. Kuljit Kaur and Mrs. Protima spoke on the preachings and historical importance of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
Dr. Walia called him a great revolutionary and reformer. Quoting Rabinder Nath Tagore who said that nobody could surpass Guru Nanak’s description of Nature, he said that the ‘Aarti’ composed by him is a scientific exploration of the universe. It evidently explains the universal appeal of his doctrines.
Mrs. Satinder Kaur expressed thanks to all the guests, members of Dainik Jagran and the students. The other members in attendance were Mrs. Meenakshi Syal, Coordinator of the school, Dr. Ashmeen Kaur, HOD Pscyhology, Mrs. Urvashi, Dean Student Council, Mrs. Poonam Sharma, Dr. Sandeep Kaur, Dr. Harpreet Kaur, Ms. Harmanpreet Kaur, Ms. Manpreet Kaur and Mrs. Prabhjot Kaur. The stage was hosted by Mrs. Kuljit Kaur and Mrs. Jaswinder Kaur.
