Punjabi cultural festival of ‘Lohri’ was organized at Lyallpur Khalsa College

Jalandhar January 12 (Jaswinder Azad)- An impressive and colorful program marking the celebration of the famous Punjabi cultural festival of ‘Lohri’ was organized with full festive vibe and zest at Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar. Mr. Deepinder Singh Purewal, Vice-President, College Governing Council was the Chief Guest on this occasion. Various colorful facets of Punjabi culture and lifestyle were at display in this impressive program inaugurated by Mr. Deepinder Singh Purewal, College Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra, Prof. Jasreen Kaur, Prof. Manpreet Kaur, Dr. Manohar Singh, Dr. Arun Dev Sharma and Program Coordinator Dr. Gopal Singh Buttar. The traditional lighting up of the bonfire, distribution of eatables and other customs were duly followed in the process. Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra and Mr. Deepinder Singh Purewal conveyed their greetings to everyone associated with the college and also urged the students and staff members to maintain their associations with Punjabi Culture and way of life through such occasions. Various musical and cultural presentations courtesy of the Music Department of the College was the special feature of the program which was met with a tremendous response from the audience. The duties from the stage were handled by Dr. Surinderpal Mand.
