Jalandhar September 27 (Jaswinder Azad)- CV Raman Science Society of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen organized Science Marathon 2018. More than 500 students of Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Biotechnology and Bioinformatics departments participated in six events – Quiz, Extempore competition, Quotation Writing, Scientific Skit, Scientific Rangoli Making competition and Science Choreography. All the students enthusiastically participated and showed various aspects of science like Innovation of great things, Environmental Problems, Human Evolution etc. Students presented their views on latest topics like Artificial Intelligence, Rob Insects, Artificial Carbon leaf concept. Parneet was awarded first prize in Extempore competition whereas Harleen and Tanya bagged first prize in Scientific Rangoli Making competition. Bhanupriya and Yashika got first prize in Quiz competition. In Quotation writing, Charan got first prize. Students showed their amazing talent in Scientific Skit and Choreography in which skit ‘Atyachar Mein Phassi Naari Science Ne Bigdi Sudhari’ and Science Choreography ‘Science Boon or Bane’ and ‘Human Evolution’ got first prize. Coordinator of function Dr. Neelam Sharma congratulated all the prize winners and participants and presented vote of thanks to all the teaching and non-teaching staff. She also said that the main motive of this function was to promote the basic science among students and to apprise them of latest developments and innovations in science. Stage was conducted by Dr. Anjana Bhatia. On this occasion, Mrs. Deepshikha, Dr. Ekta Khosla, Dr.Seema Marwaha, Mrs. Saloni Sharma, Dr. Meena Sharma, Dr. Shaveta Chauhan, Dr. Nitika, Dr. Jitender Kumar, Mr. Harpreet Singh and all members of science department were also present. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen appreciated the initiative of science department and also congratulated the students for their creative skills and participation in huge number.
