Street Play Festival organized at KMV

Students ignite fire against social evils through Street Play
Jalandhar 13 September (Jaswinder Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage & Autonomous institution, Jalandhar has always been a frontrunner in organizing student- oriented activities for the social participation of the students to fight against the various social evils in the society. This time the ECA Department of the college in collaboration with the Yuvaa Munch organized the Street Play Festival in the college. The festival is in the series of 3-day Yuva Rang Utsav. During the festival, three teams from 3 different colleges namely KCL Institute of Law, HMV College, Jalandhar and CT Institution, Jalandhar presented Street Plays based on various social issues. They raised many pertinent issues which included corruption prevalent in the politics and also made a satire on the condition of politics in the country, various social issues like drugs, corruption in politics, poverty, farmer suicide, rape and domestic violence were also raised and the issue of depletion of water and its misuse was also highlighted during the Nukkad Natak. After the completion of the plays, Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi distributed the certificates to all the participants. She averred that all the street plays were an eye-opener for all of us as they all raised various social issues prevalent on our nation. Moreover, she also said that these type of cultural festivals proves to be a boon for the students as students can improve their overall personality through these festivals. Principal Mam also applauded the efforts of the ECA team of the college and its members namely Dr. Gurjot Kaur, Dr. Harpreet Kaur, Mrs Poonam Sharma and Ms Geetika. A token of thanks was also presented to the Principal Mam by the members of the Yuva team.
