ANTI-LARVA TEAM ISSUES THREE CHALLANS
Jalandhar October 8 (Jaswinder Azad)- Continuing its drive against vector-borne diseases in the city under Tandarust Punjab Mission, a joint team of the health department and Municipal Corporation Jalandhar (MCJ) detected 27 dengue larva cases in various localities of the city. Teams of anti-larva wing led by Mr Kamaldeep, Mr Sukhjinder, Mr Naresh Kumar, Mr Rajan, Mr Gurwinder Singh, Mr Naresh Kumar and others carried the inspection in Amar Garden, Baba Budha Ji Nagar, Pratap Nagar, Preet Nagar and Suranussi. During the checking, the teams visited 510 houses, checked 126 air coolers and 107 waste containers. Anti-Larva team sprayed the medicine in 557 rooms. Three challans were issued in Baba Budha Ji Nagar. The larva mostly was found in desert coolers, flower pots and other water containers. The teams’ members interacted with the local residents and asked them to refrain from storing water in containers and air coolers as it could act as a breeding ground for the mosquitoes that were the carriers of diseases like dengue, malaria and others.
