Three-day IKG PTU Zonal Youth Festival 2018 kicks off at CT Group of Institutions

CT’s Simrandeep bags best actress title in One Act Play
– More than 500 students from 19 colleges perform in different events
– The festival observes performances of Group Shabad Gyan, Folk Songs, One Act Play, Rangoli and other events
– Dr. RPS Bedi, Joint Registrar, IKG-PTU remained Chief Guest, whereas Anchor Satinder Satti, Singer Kamaljeet Neeru and Model Bobby Lyal remained Guests of Honor
Jalandhar October 16 (Jaswinder Azad)- A three-day Zonal Youth Festival 2018 for North Zone of IK Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKG PTU) has kicked off at the Sardarni Manjit Kaur Auditorium of CT Group of Institutions, Shahpur campus. This year, the theme of the festival is Youth Against Drugs while it is dedicated to 150 years of Mahatma.
Charanjit Singh Channi, Chairman, CT Group of Institutions, Manbir Singh, Managing Director, CT Group of Institutions and Harpreet Singh, Vice Chairman, CT Group of Institutions, Dr. RPS Bedi, Joint Registrar, IKG-PTU and Sameer Sharma, Assistant Director Youth Affairs, IKG-PTU inaugurated the event. Other leading personalities present on the occasion included Anchor Satinder Satti, Singer Kamaljeet Neeru and Model Bobby Lyal.
The participating colleges included IKG PTU Amritsar Campus, Khalsa College of Engineering and Technology, Amritsar, Khalsa College of Management and Technology, Amritsar, SSCMT Amritsar, SSIET Dinanagar, GGI Gurdaspur, BCET Gurdaspur, CT Institute of Technology (CTIT), CT Institute of Engineering, Management & Technology (CTIEMT), DAV Institute of Engineering & Technology (DAVIET), St. Soldier Institute of Engineering and Technology and many more.
Renowned anchor Satinder Satti encouraged the students to perform and highlight their talent by participating in such cultural activities and appealed to the young generation to stay away with drugs for better future. The judges for the different event included names like Dr. Kamlesh Inder Singh, Department of Music, Dev Samaj College for Women, Chandigarh, Ali Akbar, Gurmat Sangeet, Punjabi University, Patiala, Dr. Manmohan Singh, Artist Amit Zurff, Dr. Kulbeer Kaur Virk, and Karamveer Sandhu etc.
This was followed by an inaugural address by Campus Director Dr. G S Kalra. He said such festivals bring out the hidden talent of youth and also give them a platform to make a niche for themselves among thousands of college students.
Manbir Singh, Managing Director, CT Group of Institutions along with other dignitaries presented a token of gratitude to the worthy guests. He encouraged students to work hard with dedication to achieve success in life.
